General Information

The Fayetteville Lions Club, sponsored by the Fort Smith club, was chartered on May 10, 1923 with 23 members. The Fayetteville Lions Club meets each Wednesday at noon at the Fayetteville Clarion Inn.

The Lions motto is "WE SERVE."  We have 70 members, but like all GOOD LIONS CLUBS, we are always looking for more GOOD, DEDICATED men and women to invite into our club.  Membership in the Lions Club is by invitation only. Any member can bring a prospect to the Wednesday luncheon meeting twice as the guest of the Club.  After the second meeting, a membership application from the Secretary is presented for the new prospect to complete and submit for approval by the Club’s Board of Directors. A membership fee of $25.00 is also to be submitted.

Becoming a Lion is an honor and a privilege, and like all privileges, carries the responsibility to support the Club through attendance, participation and service.  There are also financial responsibilities including State, International dues, and meals. This currently is $136.62 per quarter, billed in advance to each active member.  Not included are fees for Installation Banquet in June or the Christmas Party in December where spouses are invited as special guests.

In the 2003-2004 club year the Fayetteville Lions Club had gross income of over $34,312.00.  This was accomplished through fund raising activities and special projects which include the annual Auction-of-the-Air, White Cane Days, Flag Project and this year, our first 5K Fun Run.  One hundred percent (100%) of this income was used to help those in need.  Donations this year included:
